In memory of Mr & Mrs Ramiah, on 17th May 10 Scholarships were given to students entering university. In addition Mrs. R.V Ramiah Memorial Scholarships for two promising students from Chrystlersfarm Mahavidayalam was established
For the ceremony, sisters of Mrs. Ramiah Shanthalaxmi and Rajalaxmi joined together Sinnathamby and Rajendran and daughter in law Nimmi. The proceedings were convened by her sons Premanand, Devanand & brother Sinnathamby
O.A Ramiah Memorial Library was opened on the 29th of July 2018. The library was expanded to include Rukmani Ramiah upon her passing in November 2022. It displays the life journey of both if them as well as provides access to their collection of books ranging from marxism to labour rights in Sri Lanka

Ramiah was a trade unionist and activist who fought for the rights of workers including better wages and living conditions. He was also elected to office as the Deputy Opposition Leader of the Central Provincial Council. Ramiah was a prolific public speaker, thinker and writer.
Rukmani was a trained teacher, school principal and social worker. Social mobility of the vulnerable and gender empowerment waher life's journey. Upon retirement she started a successful business Greentas Agency. She was the Principal of Chrystlersfarm Mahavidayalam, Teacher Hatton Convent. Rukmani passed away on Novem

Every year the O.A. Ramiah & Rukmani Ramiah memorial library offers scholarships for talented students who gain university admission from underprivilaged backgrounds.
Mr. Ramiah & Rukmani Ramiah were the loving parents of Devanand Ramiah and Premanand Ramiah loving grandparents of Deviana, Devaan, in- laws of Nimmi and, Shimi. Rukmani was the loving sister to Sinnathamby, Krishnaraja, Rajendran, Shantha, Rajalaxmi and Gunalaxmi
